Noahides and Community
I know my family and I are not the only Noahides, but it certainly feels that way sometimes… well, most of the time. I am sure I am not alone in feeling this way. As much as we can lament this fact (and my wife and I have, and do, our fair share of lamenting this fact), this fact will never change if we do nothing but lament, a fact one could also lament.
So, where do we start? Well, one obvious place is the internet. COVID-19 showed the world just how much we can connect via the internet, if need be. Although, I will be the first to admit, ZOOM meetings and virtual classes are not a full replacement for in-person gatherings.
So, if you are in Southwest Florida (my family and I are in Sarasota), send me a message and perhaps we can figure out some in-person meetings. In the meantime, Noahide Nations started a online Noahide community (think small town Facebook), as well as a virtual meeting room for Noahide groups sorted by state and country.

I’m retired Air Force.
We have had several meetings with orthodox Jewish Rabbis about conversion. However, at this point in our lives, a financial barrier to live in the community and to have our daughter attend yeshiva school prevents us.
So…
May we all strive to be humble as Moses and G_d fearing as the famous Noahide, in the Tanakh, “Job”.

I do not know of any in Douglas County, Oregon. That being said, I do not know of anybody in Douglas County, Oregon (except you now).
I will reach out to Ray Pettersen of Noahide Nations and a few other people and see if any of them are aware of any Noahides in your area.

We sold our home in Glide last December 2021 and currently are commuting back and forth between Roseburg and Portland Eruv for Shabbat and Yom Tov desiring to convert to Judaism. We have a small apartment in Portland and stay in a 30’ travel trailer in our daughters backyard during the week. There is a growing need for Noachide communities under the guidance of an Orthodox Rabbi. We started by connecting with Umpqua Valley Havurah made up of Reform, Chabad, and non-religious Jews. Covid created many problems for community gatherings though. The Maayan school is credited through high school and may in the future offer education beyond elementary school. Many families choose online school or unfortunately end up moving to larger communities.

Thanks for stopping by the site. I do not personally know anyone in your area. However, there is a group listed on the Noahide Nations Academy of Shem website under the Colorado group. The info listed:

As far as any community at all, I know there is some or one in the Dallas-ish area in Texas. There are a few in other countries. I’ve heard the one in the Philippines is pretty large. But, yeah, that is one of the biggest challenges for Noahides. I am sure there are others around, but for the most part they seem to be small and not many. With the increased use of online platforms such as ZOOM, I know more Rabbis and Noahides have been trying to adapt. But that really isn’t a satisfying replacement for people in person. Hopefully this changes soon. I am in Florida, so not much I can do about Colorado, but anything else you think I can help with, let me know.
